Remember September

Remember September, preparing for fall,
The bounty of nature, the harvest moon ball,
Remember September Eleven, that morn, when
Tragedy struck and a new nation was born.

Out of the sky there arose such a thunder,
Shocking the world to pause and to wonder.
A demonic scheme was about to unfold
Of such magnitude, it's hard to behold.

The terrorists struck in Allah's name,
Causing death and destruction, sorrow and pain.
Three highjacked planes all hit their mark,
Within moments of fury, the sky became dark,
The symbol of wealth and power their mark.

The evil purveyors of this dastardly deed,
Awakened the world to stop and take heed.
The World Trade Center, the symbol of power,
Was hit by two jets and gone in an hour.

As the planes struck, you could tell at a glance
That thousands of workers didn't have a chance.
Firemen were called and they rushed to the horror.
For hundres of them there would be no tomorrow.
Their call and their duty was for people to save,
Ignoring the risk, their own lives they gave.

The evil purveyors of death and destruction,
     Successful with their plan,
Destroyed the towers made by man.
No longer do the towers stand,
The mighty towers made by man.

From the ashes, pain and sorrow,
Arose the cry - We'll build tomorrow!
Forged with blood, this nation's pride,
Not in vain that they shall have died.
As the ashes filled the air,
Americans showed that we still care.

Unity - our freedoms' cry!
Avenge the heroes who did die.
Preserve our freedom from shore to shore,
Let the terrorists be no more!
